I'm Francesca Etienne, Founder and President of Beyond Nursing Experience.

For years, I believed becoming an attorney was the only path that would let me advocate for others and serve my community. After earning my degree and working as a paralegal at a law firm, I realized the career I'd dreamed about wasn't the one God had planned for me. Simply put — I wasn't fulfilled.

So I started over.

A few years later, I became a Registered Nurse — a career that let me combine my passion for serving others with my purpose. Nursing gave me the chance to make a meaningful impact not only at the bedside, but throughout my community.

As I began my nursing career, I noticed something missing. Healthcare professionals dedicate themselves to caring for everyone else, but many lacked a supportive community that prioritized their own well-being. I knew there had to be a better way.

In 2022, I founded Beyond Nursing Experience (BNE) to fill that gap. What started as a vision has grown into a thriving nonprofit dedicated to empowering healthcare professionals through community, wellness, education, and connection. Through our annual summit, networking events, wellness experiences, and strategic partnerships, we've created spaces where healthcare workers feel seen, supported, and inspired.
Today, BNE has served hundreds of healthcare professionals, expanded beyond Boston, and continues to grow each year. My mission remains the same: to remind those who spend their lives caring for others that they deserve to be poured into, too.
